Rain drains that move roof water away from your house
Pipe that carries water from gutters and downspouts away from the house, so it does not soak the ground by your foundation.
Below the line · 0 to -2 ftUnder the lawn, a pipe runs from each downspout to a safe place to let the water out. When it fails, the water backs up and soaks into the soil right by the foundation.
The problem, in plain words
A roof sheds a lot of water. In a mid-valley winter, every downspout can pour it right next to the foundation. If the rain drain pipe under the ground is cracked, crushed, plugged with roots or never connected, the water soaks in where you least want it: next to the foundation and into the crawlspace.
We repair and replace rain drain lines and trench drains for homes in Philomath, Corvallis, Albany, Lebanon and Monroe.
Signs you have it
- Water overflowing from downspouts in heavy rain
- Puddles or soggy ground along the house
- Water in the crawlspace after storms
- Soil or bark washed out along the foundation
- Downspouts that just end at the ground

What we do
Find where the water goes
We trace each downspout line and find where it is broken, plugged or not connected.
Dig and replace
We dig the line, replace bad pipe and set it with steady slope so the water keeps moving.
Send it somewhere safe
The water goes to an approved outlet, away from your house and your neighbors. TODOtypical outlets Colin uses
Put it back
We backfill, compact and put the surface back.
What drives the cost
We do not quote from a price list. Every job is different, so we look first, then give you the price in writing. These are the things that move it.
- How many downspouts and how many feet of pipe
- How deep the line is
- Concrete, pavers, decks or trees in the way
- Where the water is allowed to go
- Whether the old pipe can be cleaned or must be replaced

TODOTownQuestions about rain drains
Can I just clean the gutters?
Clean gutters help. But if the pipe under the ground is broken, the water still ends up by the foundation. We can check the line.
Is a trench drain the same as a rain drain?
A trench drain is a grated channel in concrete or pavement that catches water running across the surface, like at a garage door. It usually ties into a rain drain line.
Will you tear up my lawn?
We have to dig to reach the pipe. When we are done we fill, compact and put the surface back.
