Call Colin: (541) 230-8839

The problem, in plain words

A sump pump sits in a basin at the low point of a crawlspace or basement. Water drains into the basin. When it fills, the pump turns on and pushes the water out through a pipe to a safe outlet.

Pumps wear out, floats stick, and outlet lines freeze or clog. When a pump quits during a storm, water can rise fast. We install new sump systems and replace worn ones in Philomath, Corvallis, Albany, Lebanon, Monroe and nearby.

Signs you have it

  • The pump runs all the time, or never seems to run
  • It hums but does not pump
  • Water stands in or around the basin
  • It is loud, rattles, or turns on and off fast
  • The pump is old and you do not know how old
  • There is no pump and water collects in one low spot

What we do

  1. Check the system

We look at the pump, the float, the basin, the check valve and where the water goes.

  2. Repair or replace

If the pump is worn out we replace it and set the float so it runs the way it should.

  3. Fix the outlet

The water has to go somewhere safe, away from the house. We fix or reroute the outlet line.

  4. Test it

We fill the basin and watch the pump run before we leave.

What drives the cost

We do not quote from a price list. Every job is different, so we look first, then give you the price in writing. These are the things that move it.

  • A new basin, or the one you have
  • Pump type and size
  • How far and how high the water must be pumped
  • Electrical work if there is no outlet nearby TODOwho does the electrical
  • Room to work under the house

Questions about sump pumps

How do I test my sump pump?

Slowly pour a bucket of water into the basin. The pump should turn on, empty it and shut off.

How long does a sump pump last?

It depends on the pump and how often it runs. If yours is old, or you do not know its age, have it checked before the rainy season.

What if the power goes out?

A pump without power cannot run. Ask about backup options when we look at your system. TODOconfirm backup pumps are offered

Where does the water go?

Out through a pipe to an approved outlet, away from the foundation. It should not run onto a neighbor's property.
