Emergencies

Is a sewer backup an emergency?

Yes. If sewage is coming up into a tub, shower, toilet or floor drain, stop using water in the house and call us. Dirty water carries germs, so keep kids and pets away from it.

What should I do if my crawlspace is flooding?

Do not go into a flooded crawlspace. If you can reach the breaker for anything sitting in the water without stepping in it, turn it off. Then call us.

Cost and estimates

How much will my repair cost?

It depends on how deep the pipe is, how far we have to dig, what is in the way (driveways, trees, patios), what we find once we see it, and permits. We look first, then give you the price in writing.

Do you charge for estimates?

TODOColin to confirm whether estimates are free

Can I send photos first?

Yes. Photos help us understand the problem before we come out, and can make the estimate faster. Send up to five with the estimate form.

Under the house

Why is my crawlspace wet?

Most often, water from the roof and yard runs toward the house instead of away from it. Overflowing gutters, downspouts that dump by the foundation, and ground that slopes the wrong way all add up. A high water table in the rainy months can do it too.

What is the difference between a sump pump and a wet well?

A sump pump sits in a small basin, usually in the crawlspace, and pumps out water that collects under the house. A wet well is a larger tank outside that collects water or sewage and pumps it where it needs to go, when gravity alone cannot get it there.

How do I know if my septic system is failing?

Slow drains all over the house, gurgling pipes, a sewage smell outside, soggy or extra green grass over the drainfield, or backups after heavy use are common signs.
